Rockport Center for the Arts Reports Record Tourism and Digital Growth
Rockport Center for the Arts officials presented a surge in tourism and digital engagement to Aransas County commissioners this week, reporting a total of nearly 47,000 visitors for the 2025 calendar year. The organization noted that the fourth quarter of 2025 saw more than 8,000 visitors, with a significant portion traveling from Austin, Houston, and San Antonio. Data collected at the gift shop indicated that roughly 40% of autumn visitors traveled from more than 75 miles away, resulting in over 2,700 room nights for the quarter.
Growth continued into the first quarter of 2026, which recorded 8,426 visitors and 12,085 room nights. February saw a spike in out-of-state traffic attributed to the winter Texan population, while March attendance remained strong due to spring break. Digital trends show a shift in how the public accesses information, as nearly 75% of website visitors now use mobile devices. To capitalize on this, the center is using targeted digital marketing in specific zip codes across major Texas metropolitan areas. Upcoming programming includes a sculptural exhibition by Peter Mangan and the annual art festival, which will feature a new 16,000-square-foot air-conditioned artist tent and a free shuttle service.
