Aransas County Updates Facility Use Policies and Infrastructure Projects

May 14, 20261 min read

Aransas County commissioners approved a new reservation policy and fee schedule for the Community Center and Celebration Plaza to cover operating costs. The updated policy establishes hourly rates and provides discounts for first responders, government entities, nonprofits, and military personnel. Officials noted the change was necessary because the county had previously been subsidizing private events at the facilities.

In other business, the court:

  • Rejected all bids for a communication infrastructure project after the two submissions failed to meet General Land Office (GLO) grant requirements. The project will be resolicited to ensure compliance.

  • Approved a conceptual plan for the Seagass Landing subdivision on North Fulton Beach Road, which will consist of six single-family lots.

  • Accepted a 20-foot-wide drainage easement from a local property owner to assist with county infrastructure.

  • Authorized a contract amendment with the GLO to extend the completion deadline for the county’s community building project to July 31, 2026.
